A search team combing the rugged foothills northwest of Coalinga for two missing Los Angeles-area deer hunters increased to more than 100. Two crews of California Conservation Corps members joined more than 50 Fresno County sheriff’s deputies and volunteers using horses and four-wheel-drive vehicles to look for Tom Wilson, 29, and David Reller, 32. Six search dogs were brought in, but deputies said the musk scent that the hunters were using to help them get close to their prey was throwing off the dogs. The men were hunting with bows and arrows. Deputies said Reller and Wilson drove a pickup-camper into the Coalinga Mineral Springs area last Friday. They were reported overdue on Monday.
