Stan Albeck, a 1955 graduate of Bradley University who has been coaching in the National Basketball Assn., is expected to be named coach of his alma mater today.
Bradley scheduled a morning news conference and said--without naming anyone--that it would introduce its new coach.
“We’re still talking. But, yeah, we’re down to dotting the I’s and crossing the T’s (on a multiyear contract),” Albeck said by telephone from his home in San Antonio, Tex. “There’s no finality to it.”
Albeck, 55, coached three NBA teams in six years before his most recent 11-month stint with the Chicago Bulls.
Bradley has been seeking a new coach since Aug. 5 when Dick Versace took an assistant coaching job with the Detroit Pistons.
