A San Diego cab driver who was shot by a robber, who netted less than $10, died at Scripps Memorial Hospital, a spokeswoman said. Sharyn Kamrath, 40, had been hospitalized since the July 29 shooting. Kamrath was shot in the back of the neck and shoved out of her cab in the La Jolla area by a male passenger she had picked up in downtown San Diego. Doctors believe she died from a blood clot caused by the gunshot wound. An autopsy was planned. Police said they have received dozen of tips in the case, but none have led to an arrest. Another San Diego cab driver, Linda Younger, was shot and killed June 26 by a passenger. Detectives said they have no evidence to link the slayings, but said there are strong similarities between them.
