Sims Knocks Out Reyes in Second
Walter Sims scored a second-round knockout over Nery Reyes in a 10-round lightweight bout Tuesday night at the Country Club in Reseda.
Sims, who weighed 136 pounds, knocked Reyes, 136 pounds, through the ropes in the first round with a barrage of lefts and rights. Referee Rudy Jordan helped Reyes through the ropes and gave him the mandatory eight count.
In the second round, Sims hit Reyes with a short right cross to the chin and Jordan did not bother to count. He stopped the fight at 2:55 of the round.
