OMAHA — Nebraska’s football team will play its game against Florida State on Saturday night as scheduled, despite the suspension of 60 Nebraska players as the result of ticket distribution infractions, Coach Tom Osborne said today.
“We do plan to play the game. We assume it will be played,” Osborne said. He did not say which players or how many will sit out the game. NCAA spokesman Dave Cawood said the NCAA Eligibility Committee gave the university an option of suspending at least 10 players per game over a number of games, instead of holding all the players out of one game.
