The Las Vegas Stars, managed by Larry Bowa, won their first Pacific Coast League baseball title with a 15-7 victory over the Vancouver Canadians in the deciding game of their best-of-five series Friday night at Vancouver.
Tim Pyznarski, whose two-run homer highlighted a three-run second inning, was one of eight Las Vegas players recalled by the parent San Diego Padres.
Steve Kemp, who had 11 hits in 18 at-bats in the final four games, also had a homer for Las Vegas.
