A burglary suspect led sheriff’s deputies to a Bell Gardens home and a cache of stolen property that included $200,000 worth of jewelry, six televisions, four stereos and a variety of weapons, investigators said. The suspect, Jeffrey Roberts, 19, of Pico Rivera, was arrested on suspicion of burglary by deputies, who were tipped off by a citizen, Deputy Lynda Edmonds said. Roberts admitted burglarizing a Santa Fe Springs business and agreed to lead deputies to the man who bought the stolen goods from him, Edmonds said. Roberts took deputies to the home of Odis Smith, 52, in the 7800 block of Scout Avenue, where Roberts identified several items that he claimed were stolen during a series of burglaries, she said. Smith was arrested for investigation of receiving stolen property and released on $1,000 bond, while Roberts was jailed in lieu of $2,500 bail, Edmonds said.
