A fire injured two people and caused $92,000 damage at a single-story house at 4390 44th St. in East San Diego early Tuesday, the San Diego Fire Department reported. Guoi Vo was in stable condition with burns to her body and Duc Nguyen suffered lacerations and smoke inhalation, a UC San Diego Medical Center spokeswoman said Tuesday night. An infant was slightly injured and three other residents escaped injury, Fire Department spokesman Logan Bellows said.
Bellows said investigators found that the fire started when an extension cord with several major appliances connected to it overheated.
