Do They Toss a Coin to See Who Pays for Dinner?

Share

A reader wrote last week about how “disturbing” it was that opposing NFL quarterbacks had dinner together on the eve of a game. Does he think they swapped play books?

In all sports, friendships are borne out of mutual respect and shared experiences (just like “real life”). If being sports rivals meant never being friends, our cold world would be icier still. Friends can (and do) compete.

Then, again, perhaps the letter writer lost a football bet and got a bizarre notion that a game, and not a salad, was tossed at the dinner table.
