The Region : Vote on Finn Seat Urged
The Los Angeles City Council’s Charter and Elections Committee recommended that a special election be held Feb. 3 to choose a successor to the late Councilman Howard Finn. Finn’s 1st District seat has been vacant since his death Aug. 12. After Finn’s death, as part of its effort to redraw district boundary lines, the council moved the district from the east San Fernando Valley to north and west of downtown. The full council is expected to consider the special election date within the next two weeks.
