70 Tombstones Knocked Over by Vandals
More than 70 tombstones knocked over by vandals in an East Los Angeles cemetery will be in place again by this weekend, the general manager said Friday.
Tom Tuvin said there was no major damage, none of the stones were cracked and there was no graffiti left by whoever invaded Home of Peace Memorial Park sometime Wednesday night. Tuvin said the vandalism in the Jewish graveyard appeared to be the work of juveniles.
“It happens from time to time in every cemetery,” he said.
