Fire Station to Open: Grand-opening ceremonies will be held today for a new $1.2-million fire station that is intended to serve the eastern part of the city. The geometrically shaped building, at the northeast corner of Lambert Road and Kraemer Boulevard, was built to improve service to residents and businesses located east of the Orange Freeway, including the Carbon Canyon area. The 8,400-square-foot building was built as project of the city’s Redevelopment Agency at a cost of $1,244,000.
