Race car driver Kevin Cogan called a $5,000 fine and two-race probation levied against him for unsportsmanlike conduct in last Sunday’s Indy car race at Monterey, Calif., outrageous.
Cogan, whose car touched tires with at least two other cars during the race at Laguna Seca Raceway, made a beeline to the pits of competitor Jan Lammers of Holland immediately after the race and smacked Lammers on the side of the helmet.
