Despite his attempts to take himself out of the Heisman Trophy race, Michigan quarterback Jim Harbaugh keeps giving voters something to think about.

Harbaugh passed for 300 yards and was responsible for three touchdowns Saturday as No. 4 Michigan routed Indiana, 38-14, at Bloomington, Ind.

Earlier this season, Harbaugh passed for 310 yards against Wisconsin.

“I’m on a good team. We’re having an undefeated season and that’s the only reason I’m being mentioned,” Harbaugh said of his Heisman Trophy candidacy. “Football is a team sport, and the Heisman has no place in it because no one player means that much to his team. I would just as soon have my name left out.”

Harbaugh completed 16 of 24 passes, including a touchdown play of 51 yards to Ken Higgins. Harbaugh also scored on a 3-yard run and ran 12 yards to the Indiana 1-yard line before pitching a lateral to running back Gerald White, who went untouched into the end zone.

“Harbaugh made some big plays,” Indiana Coach Bill Mallory said. “We just couldn’t keep him controlled. We got beat by a real good football team.”

Michigan, 7-0 overall, retained a share of the Big Ten lead by matching Ohio State at 4-0 in conference play. Indiana fell to 4-3 and 1-3.
