Sedillo and Kennedy Fight in Irvine for Light-Heavyweight Championship
Mike Sedillo of Chino and Glenn Kennedy of Covina meet for the vacant California light-heavyweight championship in the main bout of tonight’s Irvine Marriott Hotel boxing card.
Sedillo (16-3) won a light-heavyweight tournament championship at the Forum in 1984. In his last Irvine fight, Kennedy (13-3) knocked out John Smith.
On the undercard, heavyweight Levi Billups of San Diego meets Isaac King of San Bernardino in a four-round fight.
Billups is a replacement for Terry Davis, who withdrew from this bout but may be on the November boxing card, according to promoter Don Fraser.
Also fighting tonight will be middleweight Lee Sentinella of Huntington Beach, who meets Larry Musgrove of Los Angeles in a six-round fight.
Tickets go on sale at the hotel at 10 a.m. The first fight starts at 7:30 p.m.
