Man Who Leaped Onto Freeway Dies
A man who jumped from the bed of a pickup truck on the San Diego Freeway on Wednesday in an apparent suicide attempt died late Thursday night, authorities said.
The man, identified by police as Scott Jacob Watson, 21, had been treated for massive head injuries at Northridge Hospital Medical Center but was pronounced dead after all brain function ceased, said Iva Grant, a hospital spokeswoman.
A spokesman for the county coroner’s office said the hospital removed organs for transplant Friday.
Detective Dan Riehl of the Los Angeles Police Department said several people saw Watson stand up and jump from the truck.
