Favored Solva Wins Hollywood Park Feature
Favored Solva, carrying 115 pounds and Gary Stevens, held off Miss Clipper in the stretch and won Wednesday’s $40,000 featured allowance race for fillies and mares at Hollywood Park before a crowd of 10,632.
Defeating five rivals, Solva crossed the wire 2 1/2 lengths ahead of Miss Clipper, carrying 117 pounds and Laffit Pincay Jr. Miss Clipper was 3 1/2 lengths ahead of Duckworth, ridden by Eddie Delahoussaye in the 1 1/16-mile race on the turf.
