George W. Trammell III has been elected to serve a one-year term as presiding judge of the Los Angeles Municipal Court. Trammell, 50, who has been a judge for 15 years, has held the post since June, when Municipal Judge Maxine F. Thomas was ousted as presiding judge by a vote of her fellow judges. Trammell, a Long Beach native, previously served as a deputy district attorney. Judge Richard A. Paez was elected as assistant presiding judge. Both judges’ terms begin in January.
