A San Francisco man was formally charged with delivering a bomb disguised as a bouquet to the estranged wife of his alleged homosexual lover. Shaun Jerome Small, 27, was arraigned on charges of attempting to damage or destroy a federal office with a bomb, possession of an unregistered explosive, and construction of an unregistered explosive. But no attempted murder charges were filed in connection with the incident, in which Melanie Pilaski, 41, and a co-worker, Pamela Castro, 42, suffered burns and lacerations. Friends told police the bombing apparently stemmed from the bitter divorce dispute between Mrs. Pilaski and her husband, Peter, 52. Peter Pilaski returned five days ago to his native West Germany, but reportedly telephoned San Francisco police to say he is returning to the United States.
