A Van Nuys man faces vehicular manslaughter charges after his car struck another at a North Hollywood intersection, killing the driver, Los Angeles police said.
Takita Kazunori, 33, of Reseda died Sunday in the 12:45 a.m. accident, said Officer Larry Rumple.
Kazunori was driving east on Chandler Boulevard when his car collided with one driven by Ronald Lorigo, 26, who was northbound on Coldwater Canyon Avenue, Rumple said. Lorigo apparently ran a stoplight, the officer said.
Lorigo suffered facial fractures and remained Monday in St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, Rumple said. Police have asked the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office to file the manslaughter charge, he said.
