All-Pro defensive end Dan Hampton of the Chicago Bears was arrested on drunken-driving charges early Monday when his car was stopped on the Edens Expressway spur to the Illinois Tollway near Deerfield.

Hampton refused to take a sobriety test, so his driver’s license was automatically suspended for 45 days. Hampton posted $300 cash bond after he was charged with driving under the influence, speeding and improper lane usage, which Voss said “implies he was weaving.”

Hampton’s arrest came more than eight hours after the 6-5, 265-pound lineman led the Bear defense with 6 tackles and 3 1/2 quarterback sacks in a 12-10 victory over the Green Bay Packers at Soldier Field.
