Dailey’s Agents Apparently Trying to Renegotiate Offer by Clippers

The Quintin Dailey deal may have hit a snag.
The Clippers sent Dailey a reported one-year, $75,000 offer sheet Tuesday, but Dailey’s agents are apparently trying to renegotiate the deal.
“We’ve talked back and fourth and we’re going to talk again on Sunday,” said Randy Hunter, who represents Dailey along with Eloise Saperstein.
Said Clipper Coach Don Chaney: “They (Dailey’s agents) were calling us every week early on. But now they think they’ve got some leverage because of our (injury) situation.”
Meanwhile, the Clippers, who had nine healthy players in a 34-point loss to the Lakers Wednesday night, had just seven players at practice Friday.
Center Benoit Benjamin and forward Kenny Fields, who have sore knees, missed practice, but both are expected to play in Sunday’s rematch against the Lakers. However, forward Rory White, who missed the Laker game with a sore back, will be sidelined indefinitely.
Guard Darnell Valentine, on the injured list with a broken left hand, practiced Friday and could return to action Tuesday night against Portland, according to Chaney.
