Mickey Duff, manager of John Mugabi, said he will ask the World Boxing Council to order a rematch with Duane Thomas because he is certain that Thomas thumbed his fighter Friday night while winning the vacant super-welterweight title.

“Obviously you can’t change decisions and you wouldn’t want to,” Duff said of the Las Vegas bout in which Thomas stopped Mugabi in the third round. “It was an accidental foul, but under WBC rules, it should be a technical draw.”
