Garden Grove : Motorcyclist, 39, Dies After Brushing Curb

A motorcyclist who crashed while failing to negotiate a curve on a Garden Grove street died late Saturday, police said Sunday.

The victim, a 39-year-old Garden Grove resident whose name was not released pending notification of relatives, was declared dead at the scene of the crash, Garden Grove Police Lt. Stu Finkelstein said.

According to Finkelstein, the driver was traveling south on Magnolia Avenue--about an eighth of a mile south of Garden Grove Boulevard--when his motorcycle brushed the curb, went out of control and he was thrown from the seat.

Both motorcycle and driver came to rest at a light standard, Finkelstein said, adding that no other vehicles appeared to have been involved in the accident.
