San Diego Mayor Declares That Dec. 18 Will Be Day for the Aztecs
SAN DIEGO —
Mayor Maureen O’Connor has declared Dec. 18 as Aztec Day in San Diego to commemorate San Diego State’s first Western Athletic Conference football championship.
The Aztecs will be presented the conference championship trophy in a 2 p.m. ceremony at the Community Concourse at the corner of Front and B streets. Coach Denny Stolz and SDSU players will attend.
SDSU plays Iowa in the Holiday Bowl on Dec. 30 in San Diego Jack Murphy Stadium.
