Lazers, Burdened by Injuries, Play at Dallas Tonight

The Los Angeles Lazers will attempt to salvage what’s left of their three-game trip with what’s left of their team when they play the Dallas Sidekicks tonight at 5:30 at the Reunion Arena in Dallas.
Not only have the Lazers (3-3) lost their last three Major Indoor Soccer League games, they also have become so riddled by injuries that a victory over the Sidekicks (4-3) would amount to a major accomplishment.
The injury list includes Willie Molano, who has a dislocated shoulder and will be out for three weeks; Beto, who has a bad knee and will miss at least four weeks; Zizinho, out for a week or more with an ankle injury; Erhardt Kaap and Poli Garcia, who have knee injuries that will keep them out for at least a week; Jim Kavanaugh, out at least two weeks with a thigh injury, and Adam Topolski, out at least four weeks because of an ailing knee.
Coach Peter Wall signed defenders Val Fernandes and Greg Makowski to 10-day contracts Thursday. Both will be available tonight.
