Jeff Kubiak and Jude Kylander led a contingent of 11 Cal State Northridge swimmers Saturday who met national qualifying standards in the first day of the CSUN invitational at East Los Angeles College.

Kubiak, a senior who won three national titles last season, qualified for the Division II meet in the 200 individual medley and 200 breaststroke. His time of 2:01.12 in the breast also qualified him for the Division I meet.

Coach Pete Accardy said Kubiak’s time may be the best of any collegian this season.

Kylander set school records in qualifying for the Division II meet in the 50 free (23.80) and 100 free (52.50).
