School of Sharks Spurs Swimmer Evacuation

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. —
A mile-long school of sharks prompted an evacuation of swimmers at a popular beach, officials said. A sheriff’s deputy in a helicopter reported seeing the school Saturday, spurring lifeguards and beach patrol officers to ban swimming for 1 1/2 hours. It was the first evacuation at a Hollywood beach in three years, officials said.
