The Atlanta Hawks learned that 5-7 guard Anthony (Spud) Webb will be sidelined for at least three months with a knee injury that is worse than originally believed.
An examination by Dr. Jack Hughston at Columbus, Ga., revealed that Webb’s knee is damaged at the connection of the femur (thigh bone) and the meniscus (cartilage).
After Webb suffered the injury in a game Dec. 5, the first diagnosis was torn cartilage, and that he was scheduled to be sidelined only three weeks.
