If you pass San Diego Jack Murphy Stadium during the late afternoon, police suggest you alter your route today. Holiday Bowl officials said 60,000 fans are expected to converge on the stadium before the 6 p.m. kickoff.

Friars Road traffic will be subject to long delays, San Diego police said, and traffic is expected to back up on other roads near the stadium, including Interstates 8 and 15.

Stadium officials urge fans to arrive early. The parking lot will open at 11 a.m.

San Diego Transit will provide stadium shuttle service from eight locations.

They are: 10th Avenue and C Street downtown; Grossmont Center in La Mesa; College Grove Center; Convoy Street and Othello Avenue in Clairemont; Mission Bay High School; Mira Mesa Park-and-Ride Center; El Cajon Transit Center, and Plaza Bonita Shopping Center.
