Mike Ditka, coach of the Chicago Bears, says that lineman William (The Refrigerator) Perry’s weight is near 350 pounds and that Perry is in danger of losing his job.
“If he doesn’t take (the excess weight) off, he’ll be in jeopardy of not being here,” Ditka said. “I’m saying he’ll be in a different color jersey next year if he doesn’t take the weight off.”
Perry, who has lost at least $38,000 in contract incentives because of his weight, disagrees with Ditka about how much he weighs.
The Bears will play the Redskins Saturday in Chicago an NFC semifinal game.
