Carter Leads USIU Women Over UTEP, 86-69
SAN DIEGO —
Guard Sonya Carter scored 28 points to lead United States International University to an 86-69 victory Monday night over Texas El Paso in a nonconference women’s basketball game in Golden Hall.
The Gulls never trailed, taking a 44-27 lead at the half. Fiona Murray scored 20 points and had 12 rebounds for USIU (6-6). UTEP (2-9) was paced by Chris Hall’s 18 points. USIU plays host to UC Riverside at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the Jewish Community Center at La Jolla.
