Vanderbilt basketball Coach C.M. Newton was released from a six-day stay at a Nashville, Tenn., hospital and said he may be on the bench for the Commodores’ game tonight against Mississippi.
Newton was admitted to St. Thomas Hospital last Thursday to undergo tests to determine the cause of recurring abdominal pain. Doctors diagnosed his ailment as ileitis, an inflammation of the small intestine.
“They don’t know what causes it or when it may recur,” Newton said. “I feel OK now, just weak.”
