Women’s Basketball Roundup : Toler, Brown Lead Long Beach
The Cal State Long Beach women’s basketball team defeated San Diego State, 80-59, Thursday night in a Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. game at San Diego.
Penny Toler scored 26 points for Long Beach, and Cindy Brown had 22 points and 10 rebounds.
Jessica Haynes scored 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for San Diego.
Long Beach (10-1 overall, 2-0 in the PCAA) will play at UC Irvine Saturday. San Diego State is 3-8 and 0-2.
UCLA 85, Arizona St 78--Forward Dora Dome scored a career-high 35 points to lead the Bruins to the Pacific 10 win at Tempe, Ariz. Dome scored three straight baskets as UCLA opened a 79-64 lead with 4:41 left in the game. She also had a game-high 13 rebounds.
Forward Sherry Poole scored 20 points for the Sun Devils, who are winless in three Pac-10 games.
