MAN & SUPERMAN

So Christopher (Superman) Reeve plans to put an end to the arms race in his upcoming “Superman IV” (“And Now . . . Mighty ‘Superman IV’ to the Rescue,” by Bart Mills, Jan. 2).
Well, I don’t hold out much hope. Arms merchants unfortunately suffer from the same complaint as highly paid liberal movie stars--love of money.
And what, incidentally, was it Reeve didn’t like about Reagan’s performance at Reykjavik? Didn’t the President suggest the elimination of all nuclear weapons? Isn’t that the issue Superman will be propounding in his next epic?
Forgive me, I’m a little confused. Keeping up with the news is getting to be more than my aging brain can handle.
