Garden Grove : Another Blaze Damages School After Arson Fire
Fire erupted again in a Morningside Elementary School classroom early Monday, sparked by hot spots smoldering in the walls after an arson fire Sunday that caused $65,000 in damage, authorities said.
The flare-up, which was reported at 12:49 a.m. in an attic, caused $10,000 in additional damage to the reading and audio-visual room at the school in the 10500 block of Morningside Drive, Garden Grove Fire Department Battalion Chief Marvin Schilling said.
It took 17 firefighters about five minutes to extinguish the flames, Schilling said.
Most of the damage to the building was caused Sunday by a fire that was deliberately set by matches, fire and police officials have said. Four Garden Grove boys, ages 9 to 11, were arrested Sunday in connection with the blaze.
