Lions and Waves Open Their Home WCAC Schedules

Confidence is what Pepperdine needs most to get into the West Coast Athletic Conference race, and a couple of wins at home might instill some in his team, Wave Coach Jim Harrick said Thursday.

To get into the winning habit, Pepperdine has to shoot better than it did last week, a dismal 33.3% in losing WCAC road games to the University of San Francisco, 61-54, and to Santa Clara, 76-50. The Waves, averaging nearly 17 turnovers a game, also have to “take care of the basketball,” Harrick said. “That’s been a key problem.”
