Bo Jackson, the Heisman Trophy-winning running back at Auburn who spurned football for professional baseball, said his lawyers have talked with new Tampa Bay Buccaneer Coach Ray Perkins about Jackson playing in the NFL.

Jackson, who played for the Southern League Memphis Chicks before being called up to the American League’s Kansas City Royals last September, was asked if he would consider playing football this year if he does not have a good baseball season. Jackson replied: “Well, I don’t set my standards that low. I’m only looking for the best as far as Bo is concerned. I’m going to do everything in my power to have a great rookie year.”
