UC Irvine’s Golf Team Second in Tournament
The UC Irvine golf team is in second place after 27 holes of the 54-hole United States International University men’s tournament, which concludes today at San Luis Rey Downs.
The Anteaters, with 571 team strokes, trail first-place Cal State Long Beach (554) by 17 strokes in the 12-team tournament. UCI’s Steve Puck, who shot a 75 on the first 18 holes and 35 on the next nine, is tied for third at 110, and Gary Nichols (111) is fourth.
