PCAA Roundup : Santa Barbara Beats Fresno; New Mexico State Wins by 29

UC Santa Barbara found the range in the second half and defeated Fresno State, 54-46, Thursday night at Goleta in a Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. game.
The Gauchos, who were 9 for 32 in the first half, made 10 of 19 shots from the field in the second half to overcome Fresno State’s 24-22 halftime lead.
Santa Barbara outscored the Bulldogs, 13-6, to take a 42-35 lead with 7:46 to play. After Fresno State got within 47-44, Carrick DeHart hit an 18-footer from the left side to put the Gauchos back up by five. The Bulldogs could get no closer than four points the rest of the way.
Brian Johnson scored 13 points for the Gauchos and Khris Fortson added 11 points.
San Barbara improved 9-8 overall and 4-4 in the PCAA.
Jervis Cole scored 14 points to lead Fresno State (7-13, 2-7).
New Mexico St. 72, San Jose St. 43--Guard Kenny Travis scored 25 points and Steve McGlothin scored 14 as New Mexico State rolled to a PCAA win over San Jose State at Las Cruces, N.M.
New Mexico St. improved its record to 9-11 and 3-6 in the conference. San Jose fell to 9-9 and 5-4, respectively.
