Alemany 51, Crespi 48--Bill Lucid scored 17 points, Dave Berganio had 12 and Dave Swanson had 11 for Alemany (15-6, 7-2) in the Del Rey League game at Crespi. Jason Ringler scored 13 and Chris Faucher had 10 for Crespi (2-15, 1-7).

Notre Dame 53, St. John Bosco 50--Bruce Heicke led Notre Dame (6-11, 4-4 in league) with 16 points and teammates Kurt Schmeiderer and Josh Oppenheimer added 15 and 10 points. Kelvin Means scored a game-high 26 points for St. John Bosco (3-15, 1-7 in league).

Granada Hills 105, Monroe 67--Gary Gray scored a game-high 22 points and had 16 rebounds as Granada Hills won the Northwest Valley League game. Terrell Smith added 16 for Granada Hills (12-4, 4-2).

Canyon 58, Antelope Valley 45--Stuart Sayre led Canyon (16-5, 5-1 in league) with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Larry Allbritton and Greg Paskwietz added 16 and 14 points.

El Camino Real 65, Hamilton 58--Sean Davis had 24 points and 17 rebounds, and Nick Warner had 21 points and 11 rebounds for El Camino Real (6-10, 2-6) in the Valley League game. Paul Ragland had 17 points and Lavar Singleton scored 16 for Hamilton (1-12, 1-7).

Montclair Prep 59, Maranatha 44--Jeff Light had 17 points and 10 rebounds, Dave Sanger had 12 points, 10 rebounds and 5 blocked shots, John DeRouen had 12 points and 12 assists, and Craig Handschu had 10 points for Montclair Prep (12-6, 9-0) in the Alpha League game. Gil Gustafson scored 14 points and Burt Herlacher had 12 points for Maranatha (7-11, 1-8).

North Hollywood 59, Van Nuys 58--Dominic Nappi made the second of two free throws with four seconds left as North Hollywood took over sole possession of first place in the East Valley League. Nappi finished with 16 points and eight rebounds. Alan Breslauer finished with a season-high 20 points for North Hollywood (9-6, 5-1). Alonzo Galloway had 18 points for Van Nuys (6-9, 3-3).

Bel-Air Prep 62, Campbell Hall 46--Alex Szukenko scored 14 points, Sean Lewis had 11 and Derrick Thornton had 10 points, 16 rebounds and 11 assists for Bel Air Prep (13-6, 8-1) in the Delphic League game. Tim Sutton scored 14 points for Campbell Hall (10-5, 4-4).

Grant 48, Verdugo Hills 36--Danny Enowitz and Jason Schirn scored 11 points each to lead Grant (4-2, 8-8) in an East Valley League game.

Newbury Park 73, Royal 50--David Pessin had 16 points and 15 rebounds, Matt Ludlow had 16 points and Daryl Hawkins scored 10 for Newbury Park (6-13, 2-6) in the Marmonte League game. Roger Greene led Royal (1-16, 1-8) with 15 points.

Bishop Diego 88, Moorpark 56--Moorpark lost its eighth straight Tri-Valley League game despite a game-high 20 points by Kelly Kira. Moorpark is 1-14 and 0-6.

L.A. Baptist 57, Western Christian 39--Mike Knull scored 15 points to lead L.A. Baptist (14-5, 6-3) to an Alpha League victory. Western Christian (2-7 in league) was led by Mike Henderson, who scored 12 points.

Chatsworth 48, Canoga Park 45-- Jeff Martin scored 18 points and Stuart Thompson had 13 for Chatsworth (2-4 in league) in the West Valley League game. Oral Elrington had 20 points for Chatsworth (7-9, 2-4).

Kennedy 68, Reseda 55--Marcus Malone scored 24 points and had 12 rebounds to lead Kennedy to a Valley League win. Joe Crawford led Reseda with 18 points.

Oakwood 73, Southwestern 36--Mitchell Butler scored 32 points and had 15 rebounds to lead Oakwood (12-4, 8-0) in a Liberty League game.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Kennedy 59, El Camino Real 27--Diane DeCree scored 20 points, had 18 rebounds and 5 assists, and Tisa Rush added 18 points and 10 assists as Kennedy (14-3, 6-0) won its 86th straight league game. Nicole Nelson had a team-high 11 points for El Camino Real (7-6, 3-3).

North Hollywood 68, Canoga Park 33--Debbie Herz scored 18 points and had 11 rebounds as North Hollywood won its seventh straight game and remained undefeated in West Valley League play. Leti Carranza added 18 points for North Hollywood (11-2, 6-0).

Grant 41, Taft 40 (OT)--Junior center Christa Smith scored a game-high 21 points, including all four of Grant’s points in overtime, as the Lancers (2-7, 1-5) won in a West Valley League game. Smith also had 15 rebounds and teammate Erika Sato had a career-high 10 points.

Reseda 58, Birmingham 51--Reseda stayed within a game of first-place North Hollywood in the West Valley League as Cheryl Hightower scored a game-high 22 points to lead Reseda. Dana Jones added 12 points and 11 rebounds for Reseda (9-1, 5-1).

Cleveland 64, Granada Hills 40--Dawn Stewart and Nancy Nicholls each scored 19 points to lead Cleveland (5-1, 6-4) to a Valley League win. Nicholls had 19 rebounds and Stewart had 18. Dawn Greer added 16 points for Cleveland. Granada Hills (0-6 in league) was led by Jennifer Goodman with 13 points and Sandy Kupanishi with 12.

Simi Valley 80, Westlake 52--Julie Arlotto had 25 points and 8 rebounds, Dani Elton had 14 points, and Kristie Sterbens had 12 points and 6 assists for Simi Valley (18-3, 9-0) in the Marmonte League game. Casey Salmina scored 19 points and Susie Smiley added 12 for Westlake (3-12, 1-8).

Thousand Oaks 60, Camarillo 48--Kris Pederson scored 25 points and Amy Chandler had 11 for Thousand Oaks (11-10, 6-3) in the Marmonte League game. Julie Piantek had 20 points and Nicole Victoria had 19 for Camarillo (9-10, 2-5).

Newbury Park 66, Royal 47--Julia Johnson had 16 points and 13 rebounds, Marlo Cormier scored 11 points and Dawn Patmaker had 10 for Newbury Park (13-2, 7-2) in the Marmonte League game. April Broussard and Jenny Korinko led Royal (3-12, 1-8) with 10 points each.

La Reina 55, Bishop Diego 40--Audra Budrys had 19 points and 15 rebounds, and Christina Ornelaz had 14 points and 12 rebounds for La Reina (5-8, 5-4) in the Tri-Valley League game.

Faith Baptist 47, Buckley 46--Valerie Hairston led Faith Baptist (3-4 in league) to a Delphic League win despite Laura Kirkpatrick’s 26 points and career-high 20 rebounds for Buckley (4-9, 3-4).

Other girls scores: West Valley Christian 68, West Simi Christian 23; Westlake 47, Corvallis 45.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

Valley College 60, Antelope Valley 54--Lenise Collins had 14 points and 14 rebounds, and Maryjo Testa scored 14 points for Valley (19-3, 7-0) in the Southern California Conference game. Lorraine Hunter scored 21 points and Kim Fairchild added 18 for Antelope Valley (8-11, 2-5).

COLLEGE SWIMMING

CSUN 118, UC Irvine 109--John Morrison won the 1,000-meter freestyle in a time of 9:50.06 and was second in the 500 freestyle in 4:56.18 to lead CSUN (7-1). Kurt Fuchs and Brian Judd each won two events for Irvine. Fuchs won the 50 freestyle in 21.86 and the 100 freestyle in 47.38.
