Orange County Prep Soccer : Brea-Olinda Nears Another Title

Brea-Olinda High School is one victory away from winning its fourth consecutive Orange League boys’ soccer championship after defeating Anaheim, 2-1, Tuesday at Anaheim.

Julio Zamora scored for Anaheim (2-4, 7-7-2) 19 minutes into the match, but Wildcat Steve Teran made a 25-yard header with a minute remaining in the first half to tie the score, 1-1.

Teran scored the winning goal off a pass by Billy Cruise with four minutes remaining. It was the 30th league game without a loss for Brea (5-0-1, 12-4-3).

Magnolia 2, Western 2--Roger Crawford and Diego Abbes scored for the Sentinels.

In the Angelus League:

Mater Dei 8, Bishop Amat 1--Paul Oldham scored three goals for the Monarchs (10-1, 17-2).

Bishop Montgomery 3, Servite 1--David Brown scored two goals and Sam Huh scored one for the Knights (9-1-1, 14-3-4). Rhett Harty scored for the Friars (5-6, 8-11).

In girls’ Pacific Coast League:

Laguna Hills 9, Trabuco Hills 0--Erin McGinnis and Lindsey Rhebeck scored two goals each for the Hawks (6-0, 17-0-4) at home. Erica Ziencina, Claudia Smedes, Heather McIntyre, Xanne Brakke and Jenny Cowper each scored. Lynn Lambert recorded her 19th shutout.

In the Garden Grove League:

La Quinta 0, Rancho Alamitos 0--Danna Wolsleger had six saves for Rancho Alamitos and Wendy Wilson had five for the first-place Aztecs (5-0-1, 19-3-2). Rancho Alamitos is 2-3-1 in league.

In the South Coast League:

Mission Viejo 1, Dana Hills 0--Julie Foudy scored the only goal for the first-place Diablos (7-0, 20-0-1) at Dana Hills. The Dolphins are 2-3-2, 12-3-2.

El Toro 2, San Clemente 0--Kim Doleman and Kristin Stahr scored for the Chargers (3-2-3, 8-2-3) at home.
