City Council Urges Condom Ads
In an effort to prevent the spread of AIDS, the Los Angeles City Council today called on newspaper, radio and television stations to begin carrying advertising that encourages the use of prophylactics.
“Los Angeles has the third-highest number of AIDS cases in the nation,” said Councilman Michael Woo, who sought the action that was unanimously approved. “If we can encourage use of prophylactics, we can prevent an epidemic.”
