Spanish cyclist Vicente Mata, who was hit by a car Sunday during a race in the Mediterranean town of Alicante, has been pronounced clinically dead at a hospital there.
Mata, who had just begun his first season as a professional after finishing second in the Spanish amateur season last year, suffered head injuries in the accident.
