When runners in the second Los Angeles Marathon take to the streets next Sunday morning, KCOP Channel 13 will be right out there with them.

The station, which racked up high ratings with coverage of last year’s inaugural L.A. run, will preview this year’s race Friday night at 10:30.

Then, next Sunday, pre-race activities will be covered commencing at 8 a.m., followed by the start of the wheelchair race at 8:30 a.m. and the marathon at 9 a.m. Three helicopters and a blimp will give a bird’s-eye view of the 26.2-mile route, while on the ground there’ll be 25 cameras, street vehicles and scores of KCOP personnel.
