Linebacker Lawrence Taylor of the New York...
Linebacker Lawrence Taylor of the New York Giants was detained and questioned at Kansas City International Airport after joking about carrying a gun. According to the FBI, the incident occurred Saturday morning.
Taylor had been in Kansas City to attend the 101 Banquet, where he was honored as the National Football Conference’s defensive player of the year.
When he arrived at the airport to catch a flight to St. Louis, he apparently made a joke to friends that the trophy, which was packed in soft luggage, probably would be mistaken for a gun.
