PCAA Roundup : No. 1 Las Vegas Trounces Pacific, 82-55

Gary Graham scored 20 points, and Armon Gilliam added 17 Thursday night as top-ranked Nevada Las Vegas routed University of the Pacific, 82-55, in a Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. game at Las Vegas.
The Runnin’ Rebels (29-1 overall, 17-0 in the PCAA) won their 14th consecutive game.
UNLV Coach Jerry Tarkanian sent in his reserves midway through the first half after watching his team put on an 18-4 surge to open up the 20-point lead.
After leading, 42-22, at halftime, UNLV ran off a 26-9 spurt to open the second half before Tarkanian again pulled the starters from the game with 10:49 left. UNLV led by as many as 37 points in the second half.
Freddie Banks added 15 for the Runnin’ Rebels, while Christian Gray had 19 points for Pacific (10-16, 6-11), which lost its fourth straight game.
San Jose State 81, Utah State 73--Guard Ricky Berry scored 27 points, and guard Rodney Scott had 14 to lead the Spartans (13-13, 9-8) to victory at San Jose.
Danny Conway led Utah State (15-14, 8-9) with 21 points and 14 rebounds.
