Anatoly Khrapaty of the Soviet Union set a world record by lifting 514.7 pounds in the 198-pound class in an international weightlifting competition at Lvov, the Soviet news agency Tass reported.
Khrapaty, 23, broke the record of 514 pounds set in 1985 by Viktor Solodov, another Soviet lifter.
