Rams to Host the Broncos

The Rams Monday announced their 1987 exhibition season schedule, which includes three home games--among them a meeting with the Denver Broncos, American Football Conference champions.

The Rams open the exhibition season against the Seattle Seahawks Aug. 13 at 7:30 p.m. in Anaheim Stadium. The Rams travel to San Diego to play the Chargers Aug. 22 at 6 p.m., play host to the Broncos Aug. 29 at 7 p.m. in Anaheim Stadium and conclude the exhibition season at home against the Washington Redskins Sept. 5 at 7 p.m.

The Rams Monday also announced the signing of free agent quarterback Rick McIvor, formerly of the St. Louis Cardinals, wide receiver Allen Pitts (Cal State Fullerton), safety Cleveland Clanton (Auburn) and linebacker Tim Meamber (Washington).

Ram Notes Mike Lansford recently won the North American Kicking Contest, held in Hawaii. . . . Safety Vince Newsome has been named the Rams’ 1986 special teams player of the year by Oscar Mayer, which sponsored the weekly award during the season.
