Rancho Alamitos Rallies for 8-7 Victory
Rancho Alamitos High School scored six runs in the bottom of the seventh inning Wednesday to defeat Costa Mesa, 8-7, in the consolation quarterfinals of the Santa Ana/Tustin/Newport baseball tournament on the Vaqueros’ field.
Craig Paquette had a two-run triple and Tony George had an RBI single in the seventh inning. Bruce Smalley drove in George with the winning run to advance Rancho Alamitos (1-1) to Friday’s consolation semifinals.
